All songs, talk about women empowerment but each song is distinct when it comes to the time frame that the song was written. I think that songs like this were needed during those times, so that women would feel that they have a right to be treated like any other human being or equal just like the men, and that they have to be strong and that whatever that they have been through would be a sign of strength that their lives can go on and that it doesn't have to stop there. Actually its nice that there are a lot of songs that talk about women empowerment, at least somehow it helps in the way that people view women differently and in a much lighter note. I wonder if these songs did really create a huge impact on the things that were happening to women in the time frame that the songs were written. Did it make a difference or at least help women somehow?

filipino archetypes

Filipino Archetypes are the Filipino super heroes people have come a crossed and accustomed to over the past few years , having extra ordinary talents and powers. Usually these super heroes have evolved through time or are just the Filipino counter parts of foreign super heroes or people that possess extraordinary powers. It was said that super heroes were invented or followed with the famous people in the bible and the extraordinary things that they've done or accomplished.

maximo oliveros and eating out

Watching Maximo Oliveros and Eating Out , made me a little bit confused as to the meaning of Gay really means, because i got so used to what people stereotypically define gay people, based from their clothing,mannerisms, physical attributes, the typical gay person described by the society. But when i saw these two films i got confused because the definition of a gay person suddenly became a blur to me. In Maximo Oliveros even though he was brought up to be a cross dresser, and got exposed to what his family does, he wasn't influenced by their actions. He fell in love with this police guy he became good friends with, then realized that he will be the one to break his heart, the policeman killed the father and he got heart broken when he knew that the policeman didn't have the same feelings he had for the policeman.
While for eating out, the guy that liked one girl had to act like a gay person just to get the girl eventually, and at the end the girl realized what the guy did for her, he made out and had some weird encounters with this gay person that had a crush on him , until the gay person realized he wasnt really gay, he just did that to get the girl that he likes. All the while the girl thought the guy was really gay but only to find out he did that to get to the girl.

between errotica and pornography

This is the topic that im not most familiar with, i mean i am aware of pornography because of my guy friends, since i didnt wat to read or watch any porn film or any errotica film for that matter i asked my guy friends to help me on this one :)) since they claim that this is their field of expertise;) haha:))

Errotica- they gave me one example which is kama sutra and a film called American Day dreams
they said that errotica is like a stimulator, and for self pleasure, there is a seduction stage before getting on to the having sex part, there is fore play and more sensual with nice music to go along with the mood and its very subtle. they said the most common films on errotica is when the movie is set to be an imagination of someone, like someone is day dreaming or something, while the scene changes with a ripple effect to the sensual parts until the sex scene is shown and then at the end it is shown that it is just a dream or an imagination of someone. They also said that this is more stimulating and that they prefer errotica over porn films

ON the other hand........

Porn films don't have the foreplay part and it is not sensual it just goes straight to the sex scene, no gentle touches and what have you, they gave an example of porn, the film college fuck fest, it is more hard core and more straight to the action part. no sensual stuff and more "brutal" where there would be scenes that the girl is choked, slapped in the face, peed on, especially on gang bangs wherein there would be like 5 t0 1 ratio. In there point of view they said that porn films are more degrading to women

tila tequila

I was watching tv last night, and while I was watching Tyra, the show was devoted for bisexuals and how would you know if you are one, with several guests talking about bisexuality. The most popular as of now is Tila Tequila, a hot petite girl that has her own reality show in MTV called a shot for love featuring of course Tila Tequila, and she is finding her real love between guys and girls in the show fighting to get Tila. It was surprising that she was very open about it, when it comes to her experiences in dating men and women. When she dates men she said that she wants to be treated the way she treats a woman, when it comes to bed she said that she's the submissive type and wants her man to take control in bed, but she still rocks the bed. :)) While dating women, she said she wants the one spoiling the women and making them feel special, opening doors for her, taking her shopping, dont everyhting that she can to make the girl smile. Then again she said there's nothing wrong with that, she loves the feeling and is open to any kind of relationship the most important feeling is making that special someone so hapy and in love;)

Its a good thing that she's out there to explain her feelings and that she gave a head start for all the people experiencing the same thing, she chose to stand for what she believed in and that she was proud to tell everyone her experiences and her life, and that we should give everyone a chance, its a hard thing to be normal and be accepted in society what more for people like her.

language bias

When i use english in writing or in speaking, i seldom talk or write with bias. I use the appropriate he or she or use he/she when i can refer to both genders. I usually use or have bias when i talk in filipino, only coz i thought it was supposed to be the right way. Like referring to doctors as Doktor and Doktora, I thought it was the proper way. I didn't know till know that its the not the right way, but not many know of is, i think only people who took up or is taking gender classes know the difference...I wasn't aware that you shouldn't say gaga just gago to refer to both male and female.

It's weird that we are not even aware of how we talk and write, we just write the way we got used to.. is it really possible to change the way we talk and write if we got so used to certain things already?

southwest airlines

i was watching ellen de generes the other day and one of the guests was this girl who was going to take a flight from southwest airlines. She was demanded by the flight steward to go down the plane and was not allowed to join the flight just because of what she was wearing.

She was wearing a white mini skirt, a white top and a yellow bolero. She was wearing something casual and a typical teenager would wear. So she was told to go off the plane because her clothes were disturbing, so she got so shocked after minutes of fighting with the flight steward , and the steward's point was "Southwest is a family oriented airline and what she was wearing was very inappropriate. "

This was the first time this ever happened discrimination in an international flight because of what the person was wearing and she was a white blonde girl, so it was really surprising.


Its weird that now they discriminate people based on what they wear irregardless of their color or position in the society. It was very surprising for me and I got very irritated because for me the teenager chose to wear that outfit because that was her own way of expressing herself, and what's worse was that the steward had to put the girl in the spot and she got so embarrassed, he shouldve told the girl properly and just told her off that people got offended with what she was wearing if there were people who actually got offended with what she was wearing. The steward should've approached her in a nice way not to the extent that she couldn't be in the flight because of just what she was wearing, and when the girl demanded for a public apology, they didnt agree to what the girl wanted and they didn't do anything about it.
